Hello people. I don’t have much to say then that I’m currently distracted with other stuff than doing my school stuff. I’m also participating in the Chrysanthemum fanart contest cuz why not.
That aside. It’s been a while for me since I did a review for this kind of anime. It’s an original anime and it has a sequel to it called “Tamako Love Story” which involves deeper into the relationship between Tamako and Mochizoo. THat’s all the information I have, so let’s continue on.
Inside the Usagiyama Shopping District lies an eccentric but close-knit community of business owners. Tamako Kitashirakawa, a clumsy though adorable teenage girl, belongs to a family of mochi bakers who own a quaint shop called Tama-ya. One day, Tamako stumbles upon a talking bird that presents himself as royalty from a distant land. Dera Mochimazzi, as he calls himself, states that he’s seeking a bride for his country’s prince. Intent on his mission, Dera follows Tamako home and develops an addiction to mochi, becoming painfully overweight and subsequently unable to fly back to his homeland; thus, he takes up residence with Tamako’s family and becomes the community’s beloved mascot.
Meanwhile, Tamako’s friend, Mochizou Ooji, continues to hide his true feelings for her. Their fathers are fierce mochi rivals, but will it be enough to drive a wedge between Tamako and Mochizou? And just what will happen to Dera’s task of finding his prince’s destined bride?
Tamako Market is a cute anime with a simple, a bit stupid, but an acceptable story. In terms of plot, it’s very straight forward. Sometimes a bit cliché, but it was really enjoyable. So in terms of story, just very cute.
The concept is nice. Thought it was a nice way to do things. There are more of these kinds of stories, but still nice to see in my opinion. It’s not overcomplicated at all and has a clear goal, which doesn’t get derived much from its path.
The art is your usual shoujo anime style, so nothing much to say about it. Neither about the animation. Both really nice
The characters were cute and very stereotypical. Not bad though. It may be a bit on the boring side for some people, but I like it. Stereotypes can be used well in some cases. They’re clear and they’re super cute. They may be a bit bland though, because they’re stereotypical.
The character development was clear every episode. Just learning stuff bit by bit. Very typical. Not the most original, but still okay.
In the end I give this anime a 7/10. I liked the anime. Really a cute story, which isn’t complicated and held rather simple. A bit of boorish stereotypical characters sometimes and with cliché situation, but all in all it was okay.
And that was it for this week. Did you notice it’s a bit shorter than I normally read these days? Well, I’m not feeling all that well right now, so I thought of typing something at the very least. Anyways, laters.
