As I have reviewed the first season a few weeks ago, I will now review the second season!!!! Yay \o/. This anime is based on the manga of the series and the manga is adapted from the second visual novel in the series. I’ve seen some JP gameplays from it, because I was curious on how the visual novel looked like….damn quality at that time. I still do like the art style of the game though. Anyways, this is all I have of information, as I am not really involved in the fandom of it.
Yui Komori, still held captive by the Sakamaki brothers—pureblood vampires after her blood—experiences yet more bizarre twists to her life following her stay at their household. Though haunted by enigmatic dreams, Yui soon deciphers their meaning when caught in a car crash, which subsequently leads to meeting four new vampires: the Mukami brothers, Ruki, Azusa, Kou, and Yuuma, who themselves capture the bewildered girl.
Yui later awakens in the Mukami mansion, where the brothers reveal their plans for her: she is their “Eve,” and her blood will find the “Adam” among them; together, they will have the power to rule the world. However, with the Sakamaki brothers hot on their heels, things might not go quite as smoothly as they had imagined.

Like the previous one, the anime is bad. But it’s at least a bit better than the first season.
The story, well, there is sort of a plot? It goes through small cutscenes here and there. I like the concept of it, it’s been worked out very badly. Come on, about 3% was main story plot and the rest was basically drinking blood, insulting the protagonist and fight among each other with mere glares. Very bad fights you know. Either just put serious fist to fistfights in it or just leave it be instead of getting a staring contest…… it really reminds me of the all those shoujo mangas where the love rivals lit keep it on staring at each other as if they understand each other really well. Come on shoujo manga, those brats are only 15 yrs most of the time! As if they can understand each other through the eyes that well! That aside, no, there was little to no story except the apple tree which lit kept on saying how many episodes would be left…
The character development……maybe the growth of wanting to abuse the heroine more? Just kidding, there’s no development growth. The best thing you can say is seeing the past of some characters.
The characters itself, some designs were a bit….classic? Idk, I like the designs of them. Shitty personalities though. Yui is like an “innocent little lamb” who just walks around as food literally while having extremely severe Stockholm syndrome as she sympathises with everyone, but literally EVERYONE. My gawd girl, just stop it.
The art is pretty as usual. I like the colouring with gradient, but I like the game art a bit more. Though I don’t like the design of Yui’s stupid face…….well, that’s the only minus point for me in it, looking at the art. Still, well made considering it is needed to be for animation, although there wasn’t that much animation. Meh for the frames, yay for the art.
Voice actors are nice. The only unfortunate thing is is that you hear them drink blood almost as much as they talk…..
The OP, I do like how they sing. Not the best voices, but it has a nice beat to it I guess. I don’t have much of an impression of the ED, but whatever.
In the end….it was slightly better than the previous anime I need to say. Still bad though. I’ll give it a 3,5/10!!! Wow, more with 0,5 points!!! *coughs* Yeah, Diabolik Lovers anime series are basically shitty af. I came to watch because of the art and the voice actors…. Ye, that’s the only reason really haha.
And that is it for this week. Cracking down anime like this is fun. Anyways, a few days left until I’m done with exams and then I’m prob going back to writing a review the day before publishing as I’m good at procrastinating with these kinds of things.
Last thing, normally I don’t do this, but I remembered from some yrs ago someone made a meme out of Diabolik Lovers: Lost Eden release poster. Check these out XD
