Originally this is from a Light Novel, which is translated and behind the anime plot. I read it and also the manga to compare it with and of course the anime too. I hope you like the review.
Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a leading prestigious school with state-of-the-art facilities where nearly 100% of students go on to university or find employment. The students there have the freedom to wear any hairstyle and bring any personal effects they desire. Koudo Ikusei is a paradise-like school, but the truth is that only the most superior of students receive favorable treatment.
Ayanokouji Kiyotaka is a student of D-class, which is where the school dumps its “inferior” students in order to ridicule them. For a certain reason, Kiyotaka was careless on his entrance examination, and was put in D-class. After meeting Horikita Suzune and Kushida Kikyou, two other students in his class, Kiyotaka’s situation begins to change.
Damn, the plot is so good. Like for real, everything is planned out well and there is a fricking overpowered stoic main protagonist. I like that to be honest. I don’t know many protagonists that are stoic, ovepowered and smart. Though the order of the anime isn’t the same as in the Light Novel and manga, it is very detailed and good interpreted. Though I thought that the protagnost was a bit more expressive, like in the manga and how I imagined it in the LN, it was better how the protagonist in the anime. I really liked it so much. Though you don’t get that many memories of Ayanakouji, you can puzzle it together yourself and it’s interesting to see. The idea reminds me of Assassination Classroom, but it is still original due to the point system in the school and they have a main protagonist. There’s also a slow harem in it, but I don’t mind it since it’s really good. I also really liked the philosphical questions and quotes. I intend to look for poetry and that stuff myself, but am too lazy….. Anyways, I think everything is well done and nice. I’ll give this a 9,5/10, because the only thing that bothered me sometimes was the order of the plot copared to the Light Novel….. Sorry if I’m very critic for that >.<. I hope there’s a 2nd season for it, because the past of Ayanakouji isn’t explained that well and I hope they do. First though, I hope I don’t insult the current fan translator of the LN, but I hope they get past where the anime is very soon. Though I can only hope, because the translator has a life him- or herself too. So if you like a good plot, with smart protagonists, go ahead to watch this. I recommend to read the LN of it, which is as amazing as this one.
That was it for this week, I hope you enjoyed it and see you later.
