Anime review: Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky

Originally this is a game, but I accidently watched this one without knowing this. I understood it like half a year later when I was interested in the atelier-series. Not that I have played it. I’m not playing it for 2 reasons.

  1. I don’t really game and like to watch it instead.
  2. Not going to spend my money on it if I play it only once.

But yeah. I’m gonna base this one too on the original game. Good luck with reading.

story:

This world has gone through many Dusks, and is slowly nearing its end. Within this world, in the western reaches of the “Land of Dusk,” there was a nation that prospered thanks to its use of alchemy.

There, in order to survive the eventual arrival of the “Dusk End,” the people devoted Escha & Logy 3their efforts to rediscover and recreate lost alchemic technologies. Rediscovered technology from the past era was gathered in the alchemy research city known as “Central,” where research was conducted on how to halt the advance of the twilight.

One of the heroes is a young man who researched alchemy in Central, the other a girl living in a small town on the frontier. This girl’s name is Escha. In the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others, she was assigned to the Development Department. The young man’s name is Logy. Having learned the newest alchemic techniques in Central, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, and meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well. The two make a promise to use their alchemy together, and bring success to the Development Department.

Opinion:

Because it was my first year of anime, I was really hyped about every single anime I Escha & Logy 2watched. Now I’m more picky. So this one. In comparison to the game, they really forget some things of the main story. It wasn’t that important, but they left it out. I also saw things that weren’t from the game. I thought that was also good. I mean it’s based on the game, but that doesn’t mean it must be the whole main story. So if I would compare it with the game I would give it an 5/10. It wasn;t really that great with the story compared to the game and the art was okay I guess. Without the game I would give it a 6,5/10. The story was okay, but it wasn’t that good. I enjoyed it, but I actually hoped that Escha & Logy would be together with this one. It didn’t happen. I was dissapointed….

If you have seen it before, my reviews are a bit more slacky. This is, because I want to have a review each week, but I don’t really have that much time because of school. I will try when the summer vacation starts to get them longer and better, but I can’t say it will happen. Sorry for this. I just want to do this every week and it’s a bit hard. I hope you understand.

But well, this was it for this time. Hope you enjoyed it.
